Derry Hill rests on a hill overlooking Roury Glen, where a small bridge connects the towns of Rosscarbery and Glandore. The spacious home is an open plan where natural light abounds. A private garden flanks the driveway which drops from a small lane that connects the main Rosscarbery/Skibbereen Rd. (rte. 71) with the Rosscarbery/Glandore Rd. A lawn outside the house affords ample room for family volleyball and nets for football. The meadow beyond is flanked by a preserved forest. Renters with families love the site because it is removed from the road and surrounded by ample lawn where kids can run and play without any fear of vehicular danger. Three quarters of a mile down the Rosscarbery/Glandore road sits Drombeg Circle, an "Irish Heritage" Celtic settlement and a very popular tourist site that dates back to the Bronze Age. Further down the road the quaint village of Glandore boasts a beautiful harbor that attracts sailors and their boats during the summer. Two lovely restaurant/pubs on the hillside provide outdoor seating where you can sit at your table, sip a pint, and enjoy a spectacular view of the harbor and boats below. The village of Rosscarbery 5 minutes from Derry Hill in the opposite direction of Glandore covets a five-star beach protected from the wild Atlantic and from which you enjoy a perfect swim. Just behind The Warren two 3-par, 18 hole, pitch and putt courses provide an alternate activity to sunbathing on the beach. The renowned towns of Killarney to the west and Kinsale to the east make for great day trips. The house and the private acre and a half that surrounds it are yours exclusively for the duration of your visit. A self-contained studio apartment with private entrance and large deck above the garage sleeps two and is available for an extra 50 euros a night.
